How to Apply

Five steps from application to enrollment

The application process is straightforward. Follow these steps to apply for a course at AHS.

  1. Choose the course length that fits your goals. AHS offers 8, 12, 16, and 24 week traditional farrier courses. Review options on the farrier courses page.
  2. Submit the online application, or print and mail it. Use the online form for the fastest submission, or download the printable application and mail it to the school.
  3. Contact AHS if you need help choosing. Call 479-858-1011 if you have questions about course length, start dates, or any part of the application.
  4. Pay the $500 deposit if required. The deposit reserves your spot in the program. Students using VA funding are not required to pay the $500 deposit.
  5. Watch for follow-up from AHS. AHS reviews your application and usually contacts you within 2 to 3 business days about next steps.
Deposits and Payments

Standard and VA benefit payment paths

AHS keeps the payment process simple. Standard applicants pay a $500 deposit to reserve a spot, with the balance due on the first day of class. Students using VA funding follow a separate path and are not required to pay the $500 deposit.

Standard Applicants

  • $500 deposit required to reserve a spot in the program
  • Balance due on the first day of class
  • Payment methods: check, money order, cash, credit card, or debit card
  • Secure online payment available through the website

VA Benefit Applicants

Students using VA funding are not required to pay the $500 deposit. If you plan to use Post-9/11 GI Bill® or VR&E benefits, review the GI Bill and VA benefits page before or after submitting your application. That page explains the school-side steps, VA documentation, course options, and where to review formal VA policies.

AHS can explain our application and enrollment steps. The VA determines benefit eligibility, payment amounts, and payment timing.
